Job specification – Sales Representative

Salary – £20, 000 to £25,000/ OTE £30,000

Our client is need of a trainee IT sales person to manage a large number of our existing client accounts. Clients are SMEs throughout the Hampshire area, mostly varying in size from 2 to 50 users.

The successful candidate would be expected to build and maintain relationships with relevant decision-makers. This will be done both via face-to-face meetings and by telephone to maintain existing revenue streams. Targets will be set which the candidate would be expected to achieve and exceed. He/she will be required to renew existing services including system support contracts, managed backup services, spam and virus protection services etc. They will also be expected to upsell additional products and win new network upgrade work such as server and whole network installations.

A constant stream of new clients will be provided after they are brought on-board by the new sales team. There will be no cold calling involved in this role. Any new business sales in which the successful candidate would be involved would be via incoming enquiries (normally web enquiries) or referrals from existing clients.

A competitive basic salary will be provided together with commission for achieving monthly and quarterly sales targets.

Basic hours are 9.00 am to 5.30 pm from Monday to Friday excluding public holidays. Annual leave entitlement is 20 days plus public holidays rising to 23 days after three years.


Person specification – Sales Representative

We require an IT sales person who is able to show experience of working for a similar organisation. The ability to assess clients’ IT needs and create proposals for products and services such as the following is essential:

  • network servers (virtual, physical or hosted)
  • IT systems and peripherals
  • IT support contracts
  • managed IT services including:
    • remote managed backup
    • virus and spam protection
    • remote server monitoring
    • web filtering

Candidates must be exceptionally well-presented and experienced in face-to-face and telephone sales within the IT services / IT solutions industry or telecoms industries. The successful candidate must be capable of producing their own sales proposals and quotations. High-level technical support and assistance can provided where necessary.

We provide both traditional IT engineering and support plus a range of modern cloud services and managed IT services.

Our offices are in central Eastleigh, close to local shops and with ample car parking.


The trainee Sales Representative should be looking to progress within the first 12 months.
